SAC Self-Adjusting Clutch Centralizer
Clutches fitted to vehicles are wear parts as the premier clutch manufacturer, so LuK has
applied to perfecting a wear compensation system, the mass production of which was launched in 1995.
Since then, the clutch with automatic wear compensation or SAC (Self Adjusting Clutch) has largely proven itself on a
very large number of vehicles. It has contributed, particularly on vehicles fitted with a powerful engine, to making the control
much more comfortable clutch.
The tool set is necessary for the professional removal and installation of SAC clutches (self-adjusting clutch = self-adjusting clutch).
Without this tool installed, proper removal and installation is nearly impossible, because the clutch may be tight or damaged. This has a non-actual disconnection or “rupfen” the clutch. A faulty built-in clutch must be replaced.
The tool kit prevents damage to the SAC clutch during assembly and disassembly, as well as deformation of the adjustment in the printing plate.
The newly developed clutch aligner enables centering of the clutch disc in vehicles without a guide bearing in the crankshaft. Both clamping / centering guarantee on the first clamping element (Ø 15-28 mm), the precise centering of the clutch disc and the second clamping element (Ø 12-28 mm), the precise centering of the guide bearing or crankshaft bore.
Even clutches on engines with larger bores than Hub Ø clutch plates can be centered cleanly and precisely.
Advantages:
– (Important to avoid strain on the clutch) stressing the clutch pressure plate during removal and installation.
– The centering of the clutch plate to the guide bearing or to the printing plate.
– Provision of the setting ring in conjunction with the reset tool.
Remark:
The popular version of 3-hole pitch SAC clutches, however, in some vehicles, such as Mercedes A-Class (from 2004 [W169] ) also 4-hole pitch SAC clutches installed. For this purpose, in addition to the additional quota is Cat 5154289) as needed.
