Why do you need an LPG adapter?

LPG is one of the first alternative fuels to diesel and gasoline. Although not as popular as gasoline, it can be used on all gasoline vehicles with a few exceptions. So whether you have a new or used gasoline car, you can opt for this clean and economical fuel. But, for the use of your LPG fuel throughout Europe, you must have an LPG adapter. There are indeed several LPG filling systems . This article tells you everything you need to know about LPG adapters?

How to carry out an LPG installation for your car?

Opting for an LPG car means choosing more economical and more ecological driving. An LPG installation can only be done on a petrol vehicle. The LPG vehicle retains its entire petrol system and can therefore run on petrol or LPG. For a quality LPG installation, you absolutely must use the services of a specialized company. The latter will be responsible for:

  • Install the LPG tank in the space reserved for the spare wheel;
  • Place a switch on the dashboard;
  • Place the safety valves on the LPG tank.

You will find different shapes and capacities of LPG tanks on the market. The choice to be made must depend on the vehicle or the range sought. Once your LPG vehicle has been fitted, you must have it approved by the DREAL (Regional Department for the Environment, Planning and Housing).

Importance of an LPG adapter

You will find a variety of LPG auto parts in Europe . Indeed, there are various LPG tank filling systems. These systems are not the same in all European countries.

Therefore, to avoid any incompatibility issues, you must have a GPL adapter. For your trips in Europe with your LPG car, bring the various LPG adapters that suit your vehicle. You have the option of choosing universal LPG adapters.

Many shops are specialized in the sale of LPG auto parts. Whatever type and diameter of LPG adapter you are looking for, you will find it. It should also be added that certain models of LPG adapters are exclusively used in LPG stations.


Where can you refuel your LPG car?

LPG fuel is a gas derived from liquefied petroleum containing butane and propane. LPG fuel is available at stations. Currently, the number of LPG stations in France is just under 2000. This number indicates one LPG station out of seven stations. Note that the distance between two LPG stations often does not exceed 60 kilometres. Thus, any LPG car user will have no difficulty in refueling. In Europe, there are more than 27,700 LPG stations and this figure is growing.

What to remember? LPG fuel is an excellent alternative to gasoline and diesel. It is the third most widely used automotive fuel in the world. It is also the cheapest fuel in France. In Europe, there are 4 systems for filling the tank of LPG cars. To fill the tank of your LPG vehicle with complete peace of mind, you must have the right LPG adapter. For example, by having a universal LPG adapter corresponding to your vehicle, you can fill your tank anywhere in Europe.
