Description

KME 779 gaseous LPG filter 2 Ø12 inlets x 2 Ø12 outlets for LPG pipes with a diameter of 12 mm mounted mainly on V6 and V8 intended for the protection of LPG injectors adaptable to a large number of KME type LPG systems

Volatile phase filter with replaceable fiberglass cartridge covered with a double-sided layer of polyester.

KME offers high quality volatile phase filters in its complete assembly kits. The filter is fitted between the reducer/evaporator and the injectors and is designed to filter the residual impurities contained in the LPG, which cannot be captured before the expansion of the gas.

The filter should be installed in a location that allows it to be easily serviced, which involves removing the safety pin, replacing the cartridge, locking the housing, and affixing a new sticker with a waveform to which another replacement is recommended. All the necessary items as well as the metallic sticker are included in the set constituting a service package.

The heart of the filter is, of course, the filter material. Why are we the only Polish manufacturer of gas injection systems to use such complex technology? It's the perfect combination of efficiency, absorbency, flow resistance and price. The last parameter is easy to understand, but below we will try to explain what the advantages of this filter are from a more technical point of view, using information received directly from the filter manufacturer.

Basic definitions

Filtered
It is a device used to separate solids from liquids and gases by means of one or more porous partitions, retaining solids and permeable liquids and gases.

Filtration
Process for separating solids from liquids and gases by mechanically retaining one of the substances. A liquid or gas released in the filtering process partially or completely by solid particles is called a filtrate.

Efficiency Efficiency
(efficiency) of purification is the ability to capture particles of impurities of certain sizes. It is the ratio of the mass of dirt particles captured by the filter to the mass of all particles supplied to the filter. The efficacy parameter is expressed in % (max 100%).

Absorbance
Absorbance (also called capacity) is the ability to absorb a certain amount of impurities without causing the operating fluid pressure to drop beyond the maximum allowable value.

Debit
It is the amount of working fluid that passes through a given filter area per unit time, i.e. the ability to pass the working fluid.

Resistance
flow The operating fluid passing through the filter encounters the resistance of the filter material. This parameter is called the pressure difference before and after the filter.

“Beta” coefficient
Is the number of impurity particles in the working fluid in front of the medium divided by the number of particles behind the medium. You can specify the "Beta" factor for each measured range of particle diameters.
"Beta" = number of particles before the medium / number of particles behind the medium
[1-(1/Beta)]x100 = efficiency

As a filter partition, a material based on cellulose (paper) with various additives that affect the properties and therefore the use of a given material as a filter partition is most often used. Proper selection of filter material components is essential for filtration parameters. Depending on what will be filtered, for how long, under what conditions and with what precision, the right filter material must be selected. By selecting combinations of different cellulose fibers and saturating them with appropriate substances, most often resins, we can regulate the filtration properties of a given medium and select the most suitable material with parameters that meet the requirements of a given filter.

Filter material selection rules

In addition to pure filtration parameters such as permeability, pressure drop, porosity or filtration efficiency, a very important element is the resistance to external factors (humidity, temperature, chemicals, fire resistance), which can be controlled by soaking the filter papers with chemicals (eg resins, oil) that affect these properties.

All of the above selection elements boil down to one goal: that the filter medium meets all the parameters that we have assumed to be most appropriate for a given filter and that the filter meets the highest requirements set by the market. modern.

Standard filter materials used in separation filters are subject to several rules:
– the greater the surface area, thickness and permeability of the filter material, the greater the absorbance (capacity)
is large – the denser the material, the greater its efficiency
is greater – the lower the resistance, the greater the permeability,
– the low density gives a high capacity and vice versa, – the greater the efficiency,
the lower the capacity.

Theoretically, the ideal filter medium is one that would be 100% effective in removing all types of impurities and at the same time would be characterized by infinite absorption and durability. This is impossible to achieve, but the goal is to apply solutions that can meet the above conditions as much as possible. When designing filters and filter cartridges, he strives to ensure the highest possible efficiency and the largest possible filter capacity, while maintaining high flow and low resistance to flow.

Apps

As follows from the above, the best filter material is fiberglass, which:
– achieves the highest filtration efficiency, i.e. efficiency,
– shows resistance to all kinds of external factors such as: humidity, temperature, chemicals and fire resistance.

KME filters use fiberglass coated on both sides with a layer of polyester to achieve the highest filtration efficiency and the greatest resistance to external factors.
