As you age, the lambda probe can deliver a signal that is too low or too slow on the calculator. It starts in degraded mode. This mode of operation has a tendency to enrich the carburized mixture, fouling the exhaust catalyst.
How to recognize a lambda sensor that is faulty ?
A lambda sensor failing is manifested :
-the witness management engine is turned on ;
-an increase in fuel consumption of 10% or more is found as well as an increase in pollutants ;
-the idle is unstable ;
-we feel a loss of vehicle performance ;
-the vehicle is refused on the technical control.
